Lecture October 6th
So today's lecture really held my attention. Bradley N. Litwin came in and discussed his career and what he does in the art world. I loved how he described drawing. He said that it is called Laying Lead. And he even called a pencil a lead holder. He called it a little machine. His outlook on everything seemed to be compared to machines. He is a very mechanical man. He mentioned how in high school him and his friend wondered if we could ever draw on the visual screen. Now look at our technology. He then went into talking about computers and how they developed in the art world and his experiences with computer programs and making artwork. He showed us many of his sketches he did when he was growing up and they all seemed very cartoon-ish and had a scientific flare. He had work in Tyler now, all mechanical and meticulous. They all have little motors and gears and are very fun to watch and study. I think Bradley is a very interesting man, and made me look at art in a mechanical aspect, which I have never done before.
